Build your account list

How All Accounts and My Accounts fit together, how to load a target list from a CSV, and how to put accounts on each seller's plate.

Last updated

Aithon tracks a large universe of companies, but your team works a fraction of it. Three layers keep that manageable. All Accounts is your organization's slice of the universe. My Accounts is each seller's own plate, drawn from All Accounts. Underneath, the universe itself is where discovery searches and where a company must exist to be added at all.

What All Accounts contains

All Accounts is the union of the sources an admin enables under All Accounts settings, reached from the Accounts page. Until anything is enabled it defaults to your CRM accounts, or, with no CRM connected, to the set of companies Aithon tracks. The sources are:

  1. Sync with CRM: every account from your connected CRM.
  2. Account lists: curated lists you upload or paste, described below.
  3. Seller visibility: a switch that restricts each seller to the accounts they own in the CRM, or lets everyone see everything in All Accounts.

The same page has Pending account requests: companies your sellers asked for from discovery. Approving one adds it to All Accounts and to the requester's plate.

Load a list from a CSV

On the Accounts page, open the Lists tab and click New list. Admins can Upload a CSV or Paste domains; anyone can create a Private list for my research.

A CSV needs one column of domains, under a header named domain, website or url, or a single unlabelled column; an optional name or company column is kept as the provided name. Full URLs are fine: https://www.acme.com/about becomes acme.com. Duplicates are removed. A list holds up to 10,000 domains.

Before anything is saved, Preview shows how many of the domains matched the company universe. Domains that do not match are kept on the list as unmatched, and no company is invented for them. Click Save list, then Enable in All Accounts to make it part of the organization's slice.

Put accounts on sellers' plates

The Assignments tab (admins and managers) has two tools. Territories are rules over account attributes, such as region, industry or an account list, with the sellers who own them; a territory keeps matching as data changes, and you can preview the match before saving or snapshot it as a list. Sellers shows each person's assigned accounts, with a CSV import (columns user_email, account_name, account_domain) and export.

Sellers can also help themselves: any account in All Accounts has Add to my accounts, and Edit My Accounts shows which lists a plate is made of. New accounts arriving from the CRM can be auto-assigned by the territories that match them, if an admin turns that on.

Companies that are not there yet

Ask Aithon and the discovery tools search the whole universe. A seller who finds a company outside All Accounts can request it; an admin approves it from All Accounts settings. If a company is not in the universe at all, tell your Aithon contact.
