Connect Slack to Aithon

Deal conversations often live in Slack channels: a shared channel with the customer, an internal deal room, an account channel. Connecting Slack lets Aithon read those conversations and attach them to the matching opportunity, so what was said in the channel becomes part of the deal's evidence next to email, calls and CRM activity. The connection is read-only and organization-wide; Aithon posts nothing into your workspace through it.

Prerequisites

1. Permission to authorize an app in your Slack workspace. Workspaces that restrict app installs need a workspace admin to do this step.
2. An active Aithon account.

Step 1: Open Integrations

Open the menu under your name at the bottom of the left sidebar and choose Integrations.

Step 2: Connect Slack

Find Slack in the list and click Connect. You are taken to a hosted setup page. Follow it to authorize the connector in your workspace, reviewing the scope you grant as you would for any workspace app. When it completes you are returned to Aithon and the Slack card shows Connected.

Aithon reads only the channels you authorize at connection.

How Aithon matches channels to deals

Aithon matches a channel to a company by the channel's name, ignoring the usual prefixes. A channel named deal-acme or ext-acme-corp attaches to Acme's opportunity; a channel named q3-pipeline attaches to nothing. Where a name is ambiguous, Aithon leaves it unattached rather than guessing.

The practical advice: name customer channels after the customer, one channel per deal.

What gets synced

Channels, channel members, messages, message reply authors and users. Files, attachments, reactions and message blocks are not synced.

How long it takes

New messages typically appear on a deal within a few hours.

Disconnecting

On the Integrations page, click Manage on the Slack card, then Disconnect. This removes the connection for your entire organization. Ask your Aithon contact if you also want previously synced messages removed.
