Check AWS funding eligibility for a deal
Read the AWS Benefits tab: which programs AWS has verified the deal for, what is locked and why, what your partner profile rules out, and how to start a fund request.
Last updated
Below the co-sell status on a deal's AWS Benefits tab, Aithon shows what AWS funding the deal can attract. The verdict combines AWS's own eligibility check for the opportunity with your organization's partner profile, so a program you could not actually use is filtered out rather than shown as a false hope.
How long it takes
The first check for a deal takes a few seconds while Aithon asks AWS. After that the tab opens instantly and stays up to date on its own; Refresh runs a fresh check when you want one. A submitted opportunity is required; until then the section tells you so.
Reading the result
The tab is organised from most to least actionable.
- AWS verified for this deal: the program AWS has confirmed, with an estimated amount, a checklist of the gates it passed, the next steps, and a Create fund request button. AWS funds one program per opportunity by default; the alternatives below it are options, not additions.
- Also eligible: other programs the deal qualifies for, in case the first is not the one you want.
- Locked, resolve to unlock: programs your profile qualifies for that this deal does not yet satisfy, each with a To unlock list, for example a stage the opportunity has not reached or a private offer that has not been attached.
- Not eligible for your partner profile: programs ruled out at the organization level, with AWS's own reasons and a link to the program guide.
Questions Aithon may ask you
Some gates depend on facts AWS has no API for, so Aithon asks once and remembers. Organization-level answers are asked once for everyone; deal-level ones per deal.
| Question | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Is your organization enrolled in ISV Accelerate? | Required for the Marketplace private offer promotions |
| Has this workload completed a Foundational Technical Review? | Required for the ISV Workload Migration Program |
| Is your organization in the AWS MSP Program? Does it hold the AWS AI Competency? | Unlocks specific programs and rates |
| How many Marketplace private offers has your organization closed, lifetime? | Decides between the Activate and Grow promotion tracks |
| Is the customer decommissioning a non-AWS system onto your software, with data and code in your AWS account? | The migration test for the ISV Workload Migration Program |
Where Aithon has a live signal, for example the lifetime count of accepted private offers read from your Marketplace agreements, the signal wins over a manual answer.
Which programs are evaluated
Deal-level programs, scored per opportunity: Proof of Concept funding, the Migration Acceleration Program in its Assess, Mobilize, and Migrate and Modernize phases, the Marketplace Private Offer Promotion (Activate and Grow tracks), the ISV Workload Migration Program, and Startup Incremental Workloads. Organization-level programs, which you apply for once rather than per deal: Partner Initiative Funding, Marketplace List and Sell, Business Outcomes Xcelerator, Distributor Development Funds, the Reseller Accelerated Progression Incentive, Marketing Development Funds, Strategic Collaboration Agreement funds, Training and Certification credits, Innovation Sandbox credits and APN fee credits. What each one is for is on the programs page.
Applying
Click Create fund request on the verified program. Aithon opens the application with the deal's details filled in and you as the partner contact. AWS's decision arrives back on the tab under Applications: an approval, an Action required with AWS's reason, or a rejection with the reason. Organization-level programs that AWS handles outside the opportunity flow carry an Apply in AWS Partner Central link instead.
Once you have applied, the verified card changes to View application. AWS's eligibility check keeps listing the program as eligible, because it does not track applications; the status you care about is the application's.
