Send an opportunity to AWS Partner Central
From a deal's AWS Benefits tab, find or create the matching co-sell opportunity in Partner Central, choose co-sell or visibility only, and follow AWS's review.
Last updated
Once your AWS account is connected, every open deal in Aithon gets an AWS Benefits tab. From there you register the deal as a co-sell opportunity in AWS Partner Central without leaving Aithon, and AWS's review status flows back onto the deal. Nothing is sent automatically: a deal reaches Partner Central only when someone clicks the button.
Prerequisites
- Your AWS account connected to Aithon and validated (see the connection guide).
- An open deal. Closed deals cannot be sent; AWS does not accept them.
Step 1: Look the deal up in Partner Central
Open the deal, then the AWS Benefits tab. Until the deal is registered the tab reads Not yet sent to AWS Partner Central. Click Lookup in Partner Central. Aithon searches Partner Central for existing opportunities at the same customer, by company domain.
If it finds some, a dialog lists them and you choose: Link to one of them, or Create New Opportunity. Linking is the right choice when your AWS seller or a colleague already registered the deal. A Partner Central opportunity can be linked to one Aithon deal only.
If nothing matches, the create form opens directly.
Step 2: Complete the opportunity
The form is prefilled from the deal and the account. Fields come in three tiers.
| Tier | Fields |
|---|---|
| Required to submit | Customer company name, customer website, industry, country code, target close date (must be in the future) |
| Set now, AWS locks these after submit | State or region, project title, customer business problem, use case, opportunity type, primary needs from AWS |
| Optional | AWS monthly recurring revenue in USD, next steps, sales activities, delivery models |
Two things catch people. For a customer in the United States, AWS accepts only a real US state, so pick one from the list. And the customer business problem has a minimum length; a one-line description is rejected.
Then choose the AWS involvement you want:
- Co-Sell: bring AWS sellers in now. AWS reviews the opportunity and, if approved, the account team engages.
- Visibility only: register the deal so AWS can see it, and promote it to co-sell later when the signal is right.
Click Create Partner Central opportunity. Aithon creates it, associates your AWS products and solution, and submits it in one step.
What happens next
The tab now shows the Partner Central identifier and AWS's review state: Pending Submission, Submitted to AWS, In AWS Review, Action Required, Approved, or Rejected. Status updates arrive on their own, so an approval lands even if nobody opens the deal.
The toolbar gives you four actions. Resubmit appears while the opportunity is stuck in Pending Submission. Edit changes the fields that AWS still allows at the current state: everything while it is pending, nothing while it is submitted, in review or rejected, and after approval only the monthly amount, next steps, close date, delivery models and sales activities. Re-link points the deal at a different Partner Central opportunity. Refresh re-reads AWS.
An opportunity submitted for visibility only shows Promote to Co-Sell once AWS has finished its review.
Funding depends on this step
AWS funding applications require a submitted opportunity. Until the deal shows Submitted or later, the funding section of the tab explains that it is blocked and points you here.
